Secure Cycle Storage Facilities – Northern Rail

Project

  • Secure Cycle Storage facilities
  • Client Northern Rail
  • Sector transportation

Brief

As part of an ever increasing aim to improve the U.K’s environmental strategy schemes are being rolled out with the aim of promoting the use of bicycles to travel to their place of work or at least contribute to part of their journey to work.

We at Consortia are proud to have contributed to such a scheme in the form of the introduction of Secure Cycle Storage Facilities across eight railway stations.

We have constructed and installed secure steel and mesh shelters with 50-100 2-tier cycle racks within. They include fully integrated lighting and access shutters controlled via swipe/fob access control systems.

We have also installed a full glazed version of the shelters at Salford Central Station to tie in with the original design of the station building.
